Hello again! Smile

My new ezDAC has been finished now for some time, and the addition of the Super Teddy Regulators is really worth the trouble. This DAC performs even better with dedicated voltage r ...

Hi guys,

Time to stir things up a bit... Very Happy

Still very happy with my ezDAC, but I think my current DAC deserves better voltage regulators than the on-board LM317's, so I decided to rebuild it. I ...

Hi Gavin,

Yes you can! The XO runs fine on 3.3V, I use them on The Flea to feed the ezDAC. The pinout of all these cans is the same.

Ray

Hi Leo,

Here are the values I calculated for a Butterworth curve:

- R15/16/18/19: 19.74k (was 22.1k)
- C36/37/38/39: 1n (not changed)
- R8/9/14/17: 29.62k (was 22.1k & 36k)
- R10/11/12/13 ...

See post 280:

'You can probably ignore R9 in most applications - it makes sense if using ac coupling with reasonably well matched electrolytics to maximize cmrr.'

Hi Leo,

I also simulated a perfect Butterworth (of course... Smile, after recalculating the entire filter, but the difference is very small. Group-delay is a bit smoother, and the amplitude curve is ...

Well, I simulated the CS4397 DAC's output filter, and the curve looks like the dutch dunes Smile. No wonder, with 1n and 56p where these should be the same.

I adapted the filter to make the curve as ...

Well, at least it's not a Twisted Pee... ;-)

I think it's a nice DAC Rich. Thanks for the link.

Anyone noticed the forum was down during the weekend?

Nice one Ray!
This is supposed to be the schematic, some of the component pcb numbers are a little different

Hi guys,

I had a peek at the DAC board today, and it seems the filter is a standard [url=http://www.cirrus.com/en/pubs/appNote/AN048Rev2.pdf]2-pole differential filter like this one from Cirrus. No ...

Not sure what else to try on the output, I have a couple of ZTX384C's, the BC337-25's maybe others, none of these are darlingtons though

You could wire two BC550's (or similar) together, the ...

It seems the CS4397 is still lower in rank than the ezDAC Laughing
No threat here...

I'll look into that PLL straight away. ...

I ended up re-installing the drive's image I made just before that.

That's a very nice configuration, Leo. It should do fine with the SA84 ...

The outputs all share a common-mode voltage DC offset. If you use a decent differential summing circuit (like in the ezDAC) you can get rid of it. Apparently they use something else (probably cheaper ...
