Hi guys,

Time to stir things up a bit... Very Happy

Still very happy with my ezDAC, but I think my current DAC deserves better voltage regulators than the on-board LM317's, so I decided to rebuild it. I found the 'Super Teddy Reg' on Acoustica.org, and it looks like the perfect candidate to me. I bought some PCB's at Teddy Pardo, who is the father of this reg, and found a nice big case at Hifi2000 in Italy. I used the Galaxy Maggiorato of 330x230x80mm. They even carry 10mm massive aluminium fronts!

I designed some new PSU boards to accommodate the rectifier diodes, big caps and pre-regulator. I use a total of four STR's (Super Teddy Regs...), one for each supply voltage. Also, I made a small PCB with three HF relais for digital input selection (YES! Finally I can hook up more stuff to my DAC!). I use BNC's now for the digital inputs. The relais are driven by a switch on the front.

Here's the progress so far:

Regards,

Ray

Cool! Sorry I haven't visited my own forum in a long time. How's the project coming along now?

Hello again! Smile

My new ezDAC has been finished now for some time, and the addition of the Super Teddy Regulators is really worth the trouble. This DAC performs even better with dedicated voltage regulation!

Here's a picture of it's state at the moment. I still have some opamp adapters soldered on the board, the battle is between AD8610, AD8597, ADA4627, OPA132 and THS4631.

I have dedicated a page on my website to the new version of this DAC: "The Super-regulated ezDAC".

Regards,

Ray
